Nail shape isn’t only about style. It changes how your nails wear, how they feel, and how natural they look on your hands. Here’s how to choose the one that works best for you.
| Shape | Description | Best suited for | Wear notes |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Comfort Fit |
A soft natural rounded square shape with minimal length. | Short to medium nail beds, flatter nail curves. | Active lifestyles or hands-on work. Anyone who wants a subtle, natural look. The shorter length and softened edges help reduce catching |
|
Square |
A clean square shape with a straighter edge and structured sides. | Medium to long nail beds. Classic, polished look. | Square shapes offer good stability because they keep width across the tip, but the sharper corners can catch more easily than rounded shapes. |
|
Oval |
An oval shape with a gently rounded tip and a soft, balanced silhouette. | Medium to long nail beds, flatter nail curves. | A comfortable, versatile shape. The rounded tip helps reduce snagging while still giving the nails a more elegant look. |
|
Almond |
A tapered almond shape with a softly pointed tip. | Medium to long nail beds with enough surface area for secure application. | More delicate shape, as pressure is more concentrated toward the centre of the tapered tip. For the most secure hold, we recommend nail glue rather than adhesive tabs. |
Shape notes:
Comfort Fit - Extra Short Soft Square
Comfort Fit is the easiest shape to wear day to day. The shorter length gives the nail less leverage, while the softened edges make it less likely to catch on hair, fabric, gloves, or keyboards. This makes it a good choice if you use your hands a lot, prefer a very natural look, or are trying press-ons for the first time.
Because the shape is softer and more compact, it tends to feel closest to your natural nail. It is especially suited to shorter nail beds or flatter nail curves, where longer or more sculpted shapes may feel less comfortable.
Square Short
Square is a clean, classic shape with a more structured look. Because it keeps its width along the sides and across the tip, it can feel stable and polished on the hand. It works especially well if you like a neat, defined manicure that looks simple but still finished.
The straight edge gives Square its strength, but the sharper corners can catch more easily than rounded shapes. For best wear, make sure the nail fits neatly from side to side without touching the skin, and avoid choosing a size that feels too wide at the sidewalls.
Oval Short
Oval is a balanced everyday shape. It has a softer, more natural look than Square, but still feels more elegant and elongated than Comfort Fit. The rounded tip helps reduce catching, which makes it comfortable for daily wear while still giving the hand a more refined finish.
This shape works especially well on medium to longer nail beds and flatter nail curves. It is a good option if you want something feminine and polished, but not too sharp, long, or dramatic.
Adhesive Recommendation
For the strongest and longest-lasting hold, we recommend nail glue. Adhesive tabs are a good option for shorter wear, easier removal, or when you want to wear your nails for a specific occasion.
If you have flatter nail beds or thin natural nails, you may find that a combination of adhesive tab and nail glue gives a more comfortable, secure fit. The adhesive tab can help fill small gaps between your natural nail and the press-on, while nail glue helps strengthen the hold.
Almond Short
Almond creates the most elongating look. The tapered sides and softly pointed tip make the fingers appear longer and give the manicure a more sculpted, feminine finish. It is best suited to medium to longer nail beds, where there is enough surface area for the nail to sit securely.
Because Almond narrows toward the tip, it is slightly more delicate than Comfort Fit, Oval, or Square. Pressure is more concentrated toward the centre of the tapered tip, so wear time may be shorter if you are hard on your hands.
Almond Shape Adhesive Recommendation
For Almond, we recommend nail glue rather than adhesive tabs alone. Nail glue gives a more secure hold and helps support the tapered shape during daily wear.
If you have flatter nail beds or thin natural nails, you can also try combining an adhesive tab with a small amount of nail glue for extra support and a better fit.
